Introduction:

This tour is a combination of adventure and cultural insight into Tibetan Buddhism and the tribal life of the people of the mountains.


Total Duration of the Tour: 10 Nights / 11 Days (Chandrapur to Chandrapur)

Highlights of the Tour:

Learning about Dalai Lama and his followers in India/Dharamshala, visiting Tibetan cultural places, visit to the Himalayan tribal village of Naddi, camping at beautiful locations in the foothills of Dhauladhars, superb close view of the snow-covered peaks of the Dhauladhar Mountains, bonfire, etc.


ITINERARY

Day 01: Chandrapur to Delhi


Day 02: Delhi to Pathankot


Day 03: Pathankot to Dharamshala 3 hours drive

Arrive at Pathankot Railway Station and transfer to Dharamshala. Check in to the hotel in Upper Dharamshala. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of McLeod Ganj, where we take you on the Kora Walk—a holy trail around the temple and the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. During this short walk, you will see Tibetan people chanting holy hymns and spinning prayer wheels. The Kora Walk is always followed by a visit to His Holiness the Dalai Lama Temple. Later, walk back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.



Day 04: Dharamshala

After breakfast, we take you on a short acclimatization hike from Bhagsu to Naddi Village. After a short ascent, you reach Dharamkot Village, from where it is a level walk of about two hours to Naddi Village. En route, you will come across a Buddhist Stupa and several meditation huts nestled in the forest, where elderly Tibetan monks live and practice meditation amidst the peaceful surroundings. The hike ends at Naddi Village, from where you can enjoy superb views of the snow-covered peaks of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range. From Naddi, drive down to Lower Dharamshala to visit Norbulingka, a renowned Tibetan centre dedicated to preserving and promoting traditional Tibetan art and craft. At Norbulingka, visit various workshops where skilled artisans create a variety of traditional artifacts. The Doll Museum and the Buddhist Temple at Norbulingka are also worth visiting.

Enjoy a traditional Tibetan lunch at Norling Café, Norbulingka.

After lunch, visit the International Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala, and the beautiful Dharamshala Tea Garden. Later, drive back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.


Day 05: Start Trek – Bhagsu Nag (1,800 m) to Mana Got (2,400 m) | 6 km | 4 Hours Walk

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your trek from Bhagsu Nag. Passing by the beautiful Bhagsu Nag Waterfall, the trail follows a steep ascent for about four hours to reach Mana Got. Camp here for the night. From Mana Got, you can enjoy a partial view of the snow-covered peaks of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range.


Day 06: Mana Got - Triund(2875m), 4 kms, 3 hours walk

It is again a steep ascent along a grassy ridge for about 3 to 4 hours to reach Triund, a beautiful alpine meadow situated on top of a plateau. From here, enjoy superb close-up views of the snow-covered peaks of the Dhauladhar Mountain Range on one side and the picturesque Kangra Valley on the other. Camp here for an overnight stay.


Day 07: Triund – Laka Glacier – Triund

Today, we take you on a side trek to Laka Glacier to enjoy the snow. During March, the trail to Laka Glacier is usually covered with snow. We will proceed as far as conditions safely permit and then return to Triund for an overnight stay at the campsite.

Day 08: Triund – Bhagsu Nag | 4–5 Hours Walk

After breakfast at Triund, begin your descent to Bhagsu Nag. It is a downhill trek of approximately 4 to 5 hours. We take a different route on the way back, concluding the trek at Bhagsu Nag. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.


Day 09: Dharamshala – Pathankot

After breakfast at the hotel, your room will be reserved until 11:00 AM. Check out from the hotel and drive to Pathankot Railway Station to board your train for the onward journey.


Day 10: Pathankot – Delhi

Arrive in Delhi as per your train schedule.


Day 11: Delhi – Chandrapur

Continue your journey from Delhi to Chandrapur, marking the end of the tour with wonderful memories.

INCLUSIONS
  • Hotel accommodation in Upper Dharamshala on a triple-sharing basis.

  • All simple vegetarian meals, starting with breakfast on Day 01 and continuing until lunch on Day 07.

  • Train fare from Chandrapur to Pathankot.

  • Transportation for transfers from Pathankot to Dharamshala, local sightseeing in Dharamshala as per the itinerary, and return transfer from Dharamshala to Pathankot on the last day by Tempo Traveller.

  • All trekking and camping arrangements, including accommodation in trekking-style tents on a triple-sharing basis with sleeping bags, mattresses, kitchen tent, dining tent, dining arrangements, dry pit toilet tents, and other camping essentials.

  • Entrance fees to monuments during sightseeing.

  • Ponies to carry all camping equipment and raw food during the trek. (Participants will be required to carry their own backpacks during the trek.)

  • Forest trekking permit and camping fees.

  • GST.


EXCLUSIONS
  • Items and services of a personal nature, such as soft drinks, alcoholic beverages (not recommended), etc.

  • Personal porter or pony to carry your own backpack. (Available at an additional cost of ₹1,890 per person.)

  • Any other services not specifically mentioned under "Price Includes."


THINGS TO BRING ON YOUR OWN
  • Backpack to carry your personal belongings during the trek.

  • Water bottle.

  • Good-quality hiking shoes.

  • Sun protection items: sunscreen lotion, sunglasses, and a cap.

  • Long-sleeve shirts and loose trousers for trekking.

  • Warm clothing (down jacket, woollen hat, woollen socks, thermal innerwear, etc.)

  • Flip-flops.

  • Small torch/flashlight.

  • Personal medicines, if required.

  • Rain poncho or rain jacket in case of rain.

  • Any other personal items that you consider necessary for the trek.
